Broadbridge
This project involved expanding the footprint of a converted mill building to create a spacious family home, effectively doubling its size. Securing full planning permission for a four-storey extension to the existing structure was required to achieve this.
The scope of work included a complete strip-down of the original mill building to its shell, extensive excavation, and detailed structural modifications to the lower ground floor. Floor levels were reconfigured to maximise habitable space, particularly within the existing roof areas. Throughout the development of the new structural framework, preserving the natural aesthetic of the original timber beams was a priority, ensuring alignment with the client’s vision. Additionally, the project encompassed the design and landscaping of formal gardens, paddocks, and scenic mill stream vistas.
