Boathouse
This boathouse serves as an ancillary space to the main residence, which extends over the edge of the lake within the estate grounds. Primarily designed as a home office, it also accommodates guests, offering a versatile and functional retreat.
Seamlessly integrating into the picturesque Cotswold landscape was a key priority. The design carefully complements the natural surroundings, utilising traditional craftsmanship to establish a cohesive connection with the environment. Expansive windows were strategically positioned to maximise views of the tranquil lake, allowing both residents and visitors to fully immerse themselves in the setting throughout the year.
The structure features a steel floor frame that extends over the water, anchored back into the bank for stability, supporting an oak-framed, timber-clad building above. Architectural details, including roof pitches and proportions, were meticulously designed to reflect those of the main house. Extensive landscaping, incorporating retaining walls and tiered gardens, further enhances the seamless transition between the existing residence and the newly constructed boathouse.
